Prices and quotes
How do I get a price?
Use the rough estimator for a ballpark. For a real number we come look, then you get a written room-by-room quote within 2 business days.
Do you charge for the estimate?
No. The walk-through and written quote are free.
Why is the online number a range?
Walls look different in person. Prep, trim and ceiling height move the price, so we firm it up after the walk-through.
Can I drop a room to fit my budget?
Yes. The quote is room by room for exactly that reason.
Scheduling and paint day
Which towns do you work in?
Mainly Barrington, Crystal Lake and McHenry, plus Arlington Heights, Palatine, Schaumburg and nearby towns. Check your ZIP.
Do I need to move furniture?
No. We move the big pieces to the middle and cover them. Small stuff is on our prep checklist.
When is the best time to book?
Interior work goes all year. Late fall through early spring is our quietest stretch, so start dates come sooner.
Paint, colors and safety
Which sheen should I use?
Usually flat on ceilings, eggshell on walls and semi-gloss on trim. Bathrooms and kitchens often get satin. Try the finish quiz.
My house was built before 1978. Does that matter?
Yes. Older paint can contain lead, which changes how the prep has to be done. Tell us the year and we'll talk it through at the walk-through.
Are you insured?
Fully insured. If you or your HOA need a certificate of insurance, ask and we'll send it before we start.
Interior painting
Do I need to pick colors before you come out?
No. We can quote without colors. We'll bring a fan deck if you want help. Most people pick flat on ceilings, eggshell on walls and semi-gloss on trim. Try the finish quiz.
Do I have to leave the house?
No. We do one or two rooms at a time, so you've always got somewhere to be.
What paint do you use?
We use mid-to-upper-line paint from the big brands. If you have a brand or a leftover color you want matched, tell us.
How long does a room take?
A bedroom with light prep is usually one day. Whole floors take 3–5 days. Your quote will say.
Is there a minimum?
Yes. Small jobs have a minimum because of setup and travel. Ask and we'll tell you the number.
Cabinet painting
How long is my kitchen out of commission?
Usually 4–6 working days. You can use the sink and fridge most of that time.
Will it chip?
Any painted cabinet can chip if it's hit hard. Good prep and cabinet enamel hold up to normal use.
Drywall repair
Can you just patch and not paint?
We can, but the patch will probably show. We'll prime it for you to paint, or paint the wall corner to corner so it blends.
Do you fix the leak too?
No, get a plumber or roofer for that first. Once it's dry and fixed, we'll handle the wall.
Handyman work
Can you add handyman items to my painting job?
Yes. It's the easiest way, since we're already set up. List them when you ask for a quote.
Nothing matched. Call (847) 555-0142 and ask us.
